Mortal Cost
Fire runs through my veins,
Ice courses up my spine,
Acid melts away my skin,
Rocks me as they shoveled down my throat.
Couldn't one simply die
Why, oh. Why?
Do you insist on torturing me,
With your eyes.
Could one wish for death
More than I do now;
The remnants still linger
Supported on a steady drip of insecurity,
Jealousy,
Deceit, and hate.
Is this life support really worth the cost?
Ice courses up my spine,
Acid melts away my skin,
Rocks me as they shoveled down my throat.
Couldn't one simply die
Why, oh. Why?
Do you insist on torturing me,
With your eyes.
Could one wish for death
More than I do now;
The remnants still linger
Supported on a steady drip of insecurity,
Jealousy,
Deceit, and hate.
Is this life support really worth the cost?
