Away

Caught in a void,
Floating away, into the rain.
Into the unforgiving storm.

Updrafts sweep it up.
High towards the dark heavens.

Lightning strikes around it,
Though never finding it's mark.

Away it goes into the clouds,
Far away from the one that let it go.
Never shall it be forgotten; now
Where shall it go, is there any knowing?
